    20200 - Run the Rails

    Challenge yourself as you travel on the historic Overland Train Route from New York to San Francisco! You will track your miles to earn rewards, get fit and meet this personal challenge. Pick up an official event packet at the Recreation Center when you register for this “No Fee” personal challenge for complete details. Track your miles from Feb. 15- Oct. 31 to see how far you can go and how fit you can become! Each time you visit the Recreation Center you’ll earn 10 miles plus add your activity conversion miles, moving you along the route from station to station. Turn in your miles at the front desk to pick up your rewards and turn in your completed Boarding Pass when you reach the final destination to be entered into the Annual Membership drawing and pick up your commemorative t-shirt. Yay you!

    110100 - Jr Cowboys/Cowgirls

    Get in the game with Jr Cowboys & Jr Cowgirls Basketball! The City has partnered with the University of Wyoming to present these instructional basketball leagues to boys and girls grades K-6th. We focus on fun, skill development, and introduce competition. We are looking for volunteer coaches, please contact Kason at kwalton@cityoflaramie.org if you are interested in helping out. We can provide some coach training and drills to help you.

    110400 - Little Kickers Indoor Soccer

    Fun for players and for spectators! This introductory soccer program is often the first exposure many of these children get to soccer, and it is a blast to teach them and watch them grow. We have volunteer coaches teach beginning principles to the kids. We will spread out into small groups for instruction and training in the Rec Center Gym. The focus of this program is having a positive learning experience. During this 8-week program, players receive soccer jerseys, but must provide their own shin guards covered by socks. The first practice is a parent/coach/player meeting.

    110800 - Run, Jump and Throw

    Running, Jumping, and Throwing are the basic movements of fitness and are the building blocks that translate to all sports. Track and field is an excellent way to develop these skills, and this six week program for kids grades 3-6 does just that. We will break down the movements and techniques used, introduce track and field training routines, and finish with a track meet on May 5th.

    Private lessons are available in 30 minute increments and are taught by our certified instructors.     111802 - Snowplow Sam 3 & 4

    Skaters need to have passed Snowplow 1&2 or have approval from the Skate Director. Among the skills skaters will be able to execute upon passing the levels; ability to snowplow stop, backward glide and backward swizzles. Upon completion of level 4, skater may move on to either Basic 2 or 3, after assessment.

    111803 - Basic Skate 1 & 2

    This class is for older skaters with little to no experience on the ice. The skater will learn to balance, transfer weight, and use inside edges. Among the skills that the skater will be able to execute upon completion of passing the levels; ability to snowplow stop, forward and backward swizzles, one-foot glides, and two-foot turns.
